It’s amazing how you can still find places you’ve never been before, right on your doorstep. Although I know the centre of Bath pretty well, I had never ventured to Sydney Gardens (the only remaining eighteenth-century pleasure gardens in the country) behind the Holburne Museum and beyond that to the Kennet and Avon Canal.
This is a very busy waterway, particularly during the summer months with boats for hire locally as well as through traffic. A very quiet place for a walk, so close to the bustle of central Bath.
